Australian artist superstars display energy
(alos In David Heatwole's research and journey trying to really understand this movement he believed he had discovered, which he first called Energism he learned of one Australian artist that was creating works of art using one simple brush stroke. The timing was uncanny for Heatwole who had just completed a work of art that he felt was very important to his direction at that time of his artistic career but he knew it took to long to produce. That painting is simply called "Water Lilies" and is made up of lines representing tides of energy and forms that resemble spermatozoa.
One day he learned of Gloria Petyarre (also known as Gloria Pitjara) and her amazing paintings that ebb and flow with energy and were created with a simple brush stroke that also resemble hundreds or thousands of spermatozoa. During this time Heatwole was seriously looking at the thought of the movement being more than just "energy" but also "synergy" as he started further research into the aboriginal artists of Australia he began by simply exploring the name Petyarre and he learned that Gloria was not the only artist with that name and that she actually had sisters of various ages that painted works of art that seemed related to her work. The next sister who is rather famous is Katherine Petyarre for which an entire book is dedicated. These two learned about art from their famous aunt Ada Petyarre Bird. Over many years the artist learned of another group of artists with the name Numina and they are the daughters of the Petyarrre sisters. They had the artistic gene and where continuing their mothers and aunts themes and style but developed their own patterns and color styles.
Heatwole's goal was to acquire at least one painting by each of the Petyarre sisters. It took many years after successfully securing works of art by 6 of the seven Petyarre sisters that Heatwole would finally find one small painting for sale on Ebay.com by the seventh sister who had been deceased for many years. The piece was being sold by an American. To make the collection even more special he also built a fine collection of work by many of their Numina daughters.
